EU Self Sufficiency

Figures on self-sufficiency in pig meat are no longer published by Eurostat. Figures below for years up to 2006 are based on previous Eurostat figures. Figures for years since 2007 are based on calculations taking the balance between pig meat production, imports and exports. They do not take account of any movements in stock levels. Therefore, while they should give a broadly accurate indication of consumption levels and trends, they should be treated with some caution.
