Being efficient with resources – including water, energy, feed, raw materials, packaging, transport and waste – benefits all businesses. It helps streamline operations and can save money. It can also help with legislative compliance. Resource efficiency also benefits the environment through better use of finite resources and reduced carbon and other emissions.
Resource efficiency = a sustainable business
Resource efficiency is central to the Government’s Sustainable Consumption and Production programme and is also part of AHDB Pork’s Roadmap for the environmental sustainability of the industry.
Product Sustainability Forum
The Product Sustainability Forum (PSF) is a collaboration of organisations made up of grocery retailers and suppliers, academics, NGOs and UK Government representatives.
It provides a platform for these organisations to work together to measure, improve and communicate the environmental performance of their grocery products. WRAP provides the Secretariat for the forum. For more information click here.
