GB pig prices steady - week ending 3 February
GB pig prices remained steady in the week ended 3 February, with EU spec SPP slightly falling by 0.03p to 146.80p/kg. This stability follows a decline of 1.42p/kg in the previous week. Carcase weights fell on the week by 550g to 84.22kg. This is relatively stable in relation to year earlier levels, differing by just 100g.
The EU-spec APP continued to decline in the week ended 27 January. Prices stood at 150.30 p/kg, a 0.70p fall on the previous week widening the gap between the APP and SPP for the same week 3.47p.
